We are preparing to teach contextualised Psychological First Aid (cPFA) to school teachers at Budding Buds Senior Secondary School in Tinsukia, Assam. In collaboration with the Vartamaan Care Network (http://www.vartamaan.org/) facilitated by Director Chetna Singhania, we aim to equip teachers with the skills to support their students' emotional and psychological well-being.

On June 12, a productive meeting was held with the teachers of Budding Buds Senior Secondary School in collaboration with the Vartamaan Care Network (http://www.vartamaan.org/). The session focused on gathering valuable insights into the challenges and issues faced by teachers in supporting their students’ psychological and emotional well-being. Through a series of structured questions, we explored the common behavioral issues, communication barriers, and available support systems within the school. Phase one included focus group discussions and sending out tailored surveys to the school to get more insight.

The next phase of this initiative involved analyzing the collected data to tailor the Psychological First Aid (PFA) training specifically to the needs of the school. This customized training, or contextualized PFA (cPFA), was aimed to equip teachers with practical strategies to effectively support their students. The training sessions commenced successfully on the 8th and 9th of July at 9am IST with over a hundred participants. Stay tuned for further updates on the progress and impact of this program.
